How much does it cost?
MY GUUT™ costs £299 on the MeCheck shop. That includes the kit, free return postage and your 28-page report. Check the product page for the current price before you order.
What sample do I need to give?
One small stool (poo) sample, collected at home into the stabilising tube in your kit. The instructions show you how.
How many bacteria are tested?
The report covers over 70 bacterial genera, plus named species in four key groups: probiotic, butyrate-producing, mucin-associated and sulphate-reducing.
Can it diagnose IBS or coeliac disease?
No. MY GUUT™ is a wellness test. It can’t diagnose or rule out IBS, coeliac disease, inflammatory bowel disease or any other condition. If you have symptoms, see your GP.
I’ve just had antibiotics. Should I wait?
Yes. Wait at least a month after your last dose, or your result will mainly show the effect of the antibiotics.
When should I post my sample?
Monday to Thursday, so it isn’t held up in the post over a weekend.
How will I get my results?
As a 28-page, password-protected report.
Will the report tell me what to eat?
It gives diet suggestions: fibres and foods that may feed the bacteria you’re low in, with a realistic timescale. It’s a starting point, not a medical diet plan. If you have a medical condition, talk to your GP or a dietitian before big changes.
Should I retest?
Many people test once as a baseline, change their diet, then retest after a few months to see what’s shifted.
